An Elegant Palm You Can Grow Anywhere

There’s few plant specimens that excel as equally in the landscape as they do indoors, but the Lady Palm Tree is a rare exception. Although the Lady Palm won’t grow as a landscape perennial in cold climates, it can be grown indoors in any climate as a superbly adaptable potted plant that stays compact. Never growing beyond 15 ft. when planted outdoors or 7 ft. in a container, you won’t have to worry about overhead power lines or other structures getting in the way. This palm will keep its compact and petite form even when mature, making it ideal for tight places in your landscape.

And you don’t have to wait long for new growth to emerge since the Lady Palm has an average growth rate of 2 ft. per year once established. The best part? You don’t even need full sun to make this Lady happy! Simply find a location that receives around 4-6 hours of sun or plant indoors near a bight window, and fall in love with this wonderful palm that’s perfect for office or home decor!

The clumping habit of the Lady Palm makes it ideal for containers, giving it the bushy and full appearance that it’s known for to brighten up any space. Planting and Care

1. Planting: Choose a location with bright but indirect light (low light areas work well as long as the Lady Palm gets some daily sun). Then, select a container that’s about twice the size of your plant’s shipped container, use organic soil mix, and place your Lady Palm.

2. Watering: Stick your finger into the potting soil down to a depth of 2 inches and feel around for any moisture. If the soil is drying out, go ahead and water until you see it escaping the drainage holes and then stop. If there is still moisture present, leave it be until it dries a bit more.

3. Fertilizing: You can apply palm fertilizers that contain specific nutrients best suited for palms. If you prefer, you can also use a balanced fertilizer, such as an 8-8-8 formula, for quicker growth in spring and summer.

4. Pruning: Palms do not need much pruning, except to remove damaged fronds. Always remove any damaged fronds by pruning them off with a sharp pair of sterilized pruners.
